La villa was commissioned by Raffaele Leoni and his wife Diana Peduzzi from the architect Pietro Lingeri for the Leoni Malacrida family, who were industrialists in the confectionery sector and wanted their summer residence right on the shores of the Lario.
Designed in the same years as the artists’ houses on Comacina Island, Villa Leoni in Ossuccio marks a further step for Pietro Lingeri in his quest through rationalist and Mediterranean architecture, a common characteristic of Italian architecture between the wars.
